The Power of Imagination (Vision Success Booster #1)

Hey, thanks for diving further into The Success Cycle. I’m so excited that you’re here!

Now, let’s make sure you’re getting the most out of the first step of the Cycle- Vision: Exploring Your Dream.

How’s your imagination doing these days?

It’s an odd question, right?

But it’s one that we have to answer if we’re going to make the most of this step.

Boy Daydreaming
Big Idea Lightbulb

You see, at some point in our lives, most of us learn to shut down our imagination.

We do this for all sorts of reasons…

  • We get criticized for daydreaming.
  • We’re mocked for having our “head in the clouds.”
  • Or our dreams are so big they make the people around us nervous, so they do their best to bring us back down to their level.

Regardless of what may have caused us to stop using our imagination, the point is, KNOCK IT OFF!

You now have permission to dream as big as you want!

The sky is just the beginning!

In fact, if the dream doesn’t intimidate you a little bit, make it bigger!

Seriously, who says you can’t? (Let me know where to find them, and I’ll self-help that nonsense right out of them…)

Anyway, back to YOU.

Are you ready to launch into your dream life now?

Did you work the first step and come up with goals for the seven major areas of your life?

Here they are again, in case you forgot:

  1. Personal Development
  2. Finances
  3. Relationships
  4. Career
  5. Health and Fitness
  6. Fun Time and Hobbies
  7. Legacy

Which category does your goal fall into?

What did you decide to aim for? (Let me know in the comments below…)

Remember, make it something you really want.

Maybe your goal is to pursue a dream that you had as a kid.

What did you want to be, have, or do that you set aside because “life happened?”

Pick it up. Dust it off. And let’s get you there!

Not sure what I mean?

Let’s take a trip to your past:

  • What did you used to love to do? What hobby or activity did you get lost in as a child?
  • Where did you used to love to go? Where did your happiest childhood memories take place?
  • Who did you think you would be? When you pictured yourself as an adult, what was your life like?

Hidden within the answers to these questions lie the clues to your heart’s true desires.

How do I know?

Because I believe the same things that stirred your heart as a child can still stir your heart today.

  • Maybe you loved to play music, but you put your instrument down because someone told you that you weren’t good enough to make a living as a musician.
  • Maybe you loved to write, but people told you that you couldn’t make a living as a writer, so you set your dream aside.
  • Maybe you loved hiking, but you got so busy with life that you stopped making time to hit the trails and explore.

Whatever you loved then, there’s a good chance that a part of you still longs for those things today.

It’s the moments when your heart cries out:

  • “I want to do that!”
  • “I want to go there!”
  • “I want one of those!”

So, here’s your homework for today: Stop ignoring those longings!

Write them down and run them through the Cycle!

Pursue them!

Seriously, we only get one shot at life, so let’s make the most of it.

You’ve spent way too long suppressing your dreams for the sake of stability or consistency.

Aren’t you tired of the status quo?

Yuck!

It’s like we’ve bought the lie that the path of least resistance is the way to go.

We’re told by others who we are and what they think we’re good at. They give us a name tag and a role to play, and many of us just go along with it. And if we start to wake up and ask, “Is this really what I want?” they tell us to stop daydreaming and get back to work!

Snap out of it!

Consider this: If nothing in your life excites you, are you really living?

Or are you just existing (one boring day after another) until your physical death puts you in the same ground where you buried your dreams a long time ago?

Did that last sentence sting a little bit?

Good.

If it did, that means you’ve still got some fight in you!

And that means you’re in the right place!

So, like step 1 in the book says, let’s write out your goal and launch into the pursuit of your dream life:

I’m going to                                                                                        !

Write it out, and stay tuned for more Success Boosters which will be coming soon!

In the meantime, if you need me, leave a comment or send me a message, and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

To your success!
