Step 3: Decision
Making Your Commitment
Your GPS can only take you to a definite destination.
There’s no room for uncertainty. You can’t reach your destination if you don’t know where you’re going. And you definitely won’t get there if you never get the courage to leave where you are right now.
In the same way, it’s impossible to achieve a goal without really committing to it.
That’s why we can’t just set a goal and think about why we want to achieve it. We must make a committed decision to pursue what we want no matter what!
You may be thinking, “What if I choose the wrong goal?” But that’s exactly why we took time to do the previous steps.
You see, once you’ve gotten a clear picture of your future self (the person you want to become) and you map out the life you really want to live, you don’t have to worry about choosing the wrong path. These things will serve as a compass for you moving forward.
Plus, there’s an energy and excitement that comes with figuring out where we want to go in life, and living in alignment with that goal. Every day is suddenly filled with a new sense of purpose and joy because we’re on the right track.
On the other hand, not everyone finds their way into the future they want by taking the time to explore their dream life. Sometimes the catalyst for change is a moment of disgust.
It could be a moment when you look at your life and ask, “How did I get here?” that prompts you to make the decision to change the path you’re on.
How you come to this moment of decision isn’t nearly as important as making the actual commitment to live the life of your dreams.
You have to draw a line in the sand and say, “I’m not going to live this way anymore! I want a better life, and I’m going to do whatever it takes to make it a reality!”
Once you make your committed decision, things start to get a lot more exciting!
My Goal, Reason, and Commitment:
I am going to
because .
And nothing is going to stop me!
Okay, you’ve made your commitment, that’s awesome!
But what if there was a way to increase your chances of success by up to 75%?
That’s what the next step is all about…
