Step 6: Transformation
Changing Your Identity
Now that you’ve started taking action toward your dream, how do you keep building more momentum?
Transforming your identity is the key to making steady progress toward your goals and dreams!
It’s one thing to set a goal and begin taking action toward it. It’s a completely different thing to keep going until you bring your dream to life!
Think for a second about the number of goals you’ve set in the past that you never followed through on. There’s a good chance you were missing this essential element of success.
You see, anybody can set a goal. Many people never do; but, the truth is, stating a goal is easy.
The hard part is living in step with that goal after you set it. And the easiest way to bridge the gap between setting a goal and taking consistent action toward it is by changing the way you see yourself.
Let’s face it: If you want to become the person who can achieve your goal, you must begin to live the way that person lives.
This means adopting behaviors that fit your chosen goal. They could be: waking up earlier, writing every day, studying more, jogging every morning, etc…
The activities you choose will serve to reinforce your new identity! And, after you truly take on this new identity, everything becomes easier.
Suddenly, you’re in alignment with your goal at a whole new level, and you’re on your way to success.
This goes far beyond the old “fake it ‘til you make it” advice, because you’ve taken the time to think about your future self. (Who you want to become).
Now you’re making decisions and taking steps that will help you become that person
So, if anything, you’re stepping away from your false self (the persona you’ve put on to please the people around you and be who others expect you to be), and you’re transforming into your true self (the person you’ve always wanted to be but didn’t have the courage to become).
Plus, as you begin to live out your new identity, you’ll find that it’s much easier to say “No” to distractions because you’ve already said “Yes” to your goal!
Here’s what this could look like:

I am going to .
From Now On, I Will Start:

2. .
3. .

(i.e. working out three times a week, eating healthier, meditating every morning, researching investment opportunities,
getting outside of my comfort zone and meeting new people, etc.)
